CONSUMER DIRECT SERVICES (CDS)
The Consumer Directed Services program (CDS) is available for MISSOURI MEDICAID eligible persons with physical disabilities. This program empowers the client to hire a personal care attendant to assist in their activities of daily living. The CDS program is funded by Medicaid. There is no expense to the client.

If you are eligible for the CDS program; you have the option of choosing your own personal care aid. Your personal care aid can be a friend or family member. (excluding spouse) Your personal care aid has to be at least 18 years old, has to have a clean background and some experience in this field. CDS includes some of the following but is not limited to BATHING, GROOMING, DRESSING, TOILETING, COLOSTOMY, MEAL PREP, HOUSEKEEPING, LAUNDRY, TRANSPORTATION.
COMPANION SERVICES
3 HOURS A DAY MINIMUM
Companion Services include keeping the client company and engaging the client in any number of activities, such as conversations, reading, writing, games, crafts playing cards, walking, medication, appointment reminders, escort to appointments, visiting friends & neighbors, shopping, events and religious services

IN HOME SERVICES (IHS)
The IHS program is also Medicaid Funded and deals with our more dependent clients with disabilities.
IN-HOME SERVICES (IHS) include:
Personal Care - assistance with activities of daily living;
Homemaker - general household activities to assist with housekeeping activities;
Chore - short-term, intermittent tasks necessary to maintain a clean, sanitary and safe home environment;
Advanced Personal Care - maintenance services to assist with activities of daily living when such assistance requires devices or procedures related to altered body functions;
Authorized Nurse Visits - maintenance or preventative services provided by a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse under supervision of RN (must be authorized in conjunction with another service); and
Respite – provides temporary relief for the caregiver of a dependent adult;
HOME SUPPORT OR PERSONAL CARE SERVICES
3 HOURS A DAY MINIMUM
Home Support Services Include- cooking, cleaning, vacuuming, dusting,mopping,washing dishes, laundry, taking out garbage, caring for pets etc.
Personal Care Services (CNA)- such as grooming, hygiene, mobilization, eating, feeding as well as monitoring vital signs
Healthy Youth & Children Program
This program is available to all MO HealthNet (formerly Medicaid) eligible children
(birth to age 21) residing in Missouri who are in need of medically necessary services from MO HealthNet providers.
The participant must:
• Be a Missouri resident
• Be birth to age 21
• Need medically necessary services
• Be enrolled in MO HealthNet

The Structured Family Caregiver Waiver
The Structured Family Caregiving Waiver (SFCW) is a Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) waiver offered through the Division of Senior and Disability Services (DSDS). SFCW is available to participants with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. The goal of the SFCW is to provide necessary care to participants in a home environment by maintaining the participant’s independence in a non-institutional setting.
